Bright, sunny, warm days in the winter. Too many emails coming in. Obligations stack up (and I’d like to kick them over). I have a new knife I want to sharpen. There’s farm work to be done. (Buy straw, muck barn, feed chickens.) Now the wind whips around the farmhouse and you hear it whistling like you do in movies. February. Thursday. Time marching like an army of soldiers. It’s not very warm here but it’s sunny in spurts that send sparkles spinning off the disco ball around the ceiling of the yurt. I’m about to finish pressure washing moss off the back deck, which is incredibly satisfying (as is not slipping and nearly breaking one’s neck). A good thing about the wet winters is an abundance of collected rain water. And the water pump overheats every 20 or so minutes so I get plenty of reading breaks.
