What you did with this book, whether intentional or not, was inspire folks. We hold a lot of precious dreams as young versions of ourselves and too many times they get trampled on, and all too often we allow them to die. In mourning those losses, embracing the motherf*cking sad is a critical step in actually fighting against it. This book is living proof. There are things I would never had the courage to do for myself had you not written that book. It led me to your last book, and once again your "pretty" words are pretty, pretty, great. I thank you.

It was this book that got me through one of the hardest times in my life, and I’m grateful for it too. I don’t think I had the capacity at that point to read narrative prose. So lists were exactly what I needed.

I’m also grateful that it helped me find the rest of your writing. Thank you for making something that still resonates, I guess especially since it wasn’t the style of book you wanted to write.
